We have two young doves that have adopted us.
They are always close by and we have to be careful when we go out for the first time each day because they are often sitting on our steps. We even had one get into the rig the other day. Luckily it wasn't too hard to get back outside.
We got the rig all ready for travel this morning. We put things away, pulled the slides in, hooked up to the truck and moved as far as the street in front of our rig.
Here's what we look like now with the new truck.
We went through all of this because we are getting weighed today. Well, the truck and the rig are I should say.
We contacted Stacy Frank who has a place in a nearby park and has a business of doing this. He and his wife Gail came over so that we could get each tire on a scale.
This info tells us if we are too heavy on one side of the rig and how much weight is being put onto the back of the truck. In addition we had each tire on the truck rolled onto the scales too to see how it weighed.
Stacy and Gail getting a reading.
After the rig was put back in place we sat down and Stacy went over each line with us, explaining everything on the report. Our numbers could not have come out any better. Stacy gave us a gold star!
By the time we got the slides rolled out again and things back to normal it was time to head over to Arlee and LaDonna's for the last three o'clock on Thursday Quail Run Band concert.
At last count there 56 of us there to listen one last time. The popular songs we all know and the special ones that the band members themselves wrote. The funny ones.
They gave Don, the harmonica player in this group, a hard time today. Oh hell, they do that everyday! With each new song announced Don asks what key its in so he knows which harmonica to use. Well, sometimes will all of us talking and laughing Don doesn't hear the answer. They give him a hard time about this all the time. Today they came up with a new way to let him know which key they'll be in.
Today there were even more band players than usual. Dayle played today as she has several times this winter. She plays a 12 string guitar.
The crowd was pretty big today.
There's Kathy, the park lush, holding up her two drinks.
Ah, and here's Lyle her husband who is going to be really sorry he didn't sit nicely when his picture was taken! See Lyle, I told you I would post this!
I never did catch this woman's name, although I've been introduced a couple of times now, but gosh could this lady sing Patsy Cline!
Even Line Dance Sandy came by for a bit!
Cactus Carl listening intently and enjoying every minute.
Arlee led us all in the final Happy Trails of the season. And what a season it was!
