4/29/07 A Day In Livingston

We woke to beautiful blue skies this morning. We're back at Escapee's Rainbow Park again and we like staying at these parks because they don't cost us very much money at all. Site rent here is $12.50 per night for a full hook up.... electric, water and sewer.

We just hung around the campsite today as we couldn't do anything in town since it was Sunday and government offices aren't open.
A picture of site and you can see how "white" our rig is now. There's nothing fancy about these sites and they're are quite close together but since we are just here for two nights that really doesn't matter. The cheap rent does!

We took a long walk around the park this afternoon and ended up at the Peterson's house. This is the couple that started Escapee's all those years ago and they live here permanently now. In front of their property they built this garden in remembrance of RV'ers who have passed onto the big campground in the sky. Here are some pics of what we saw.

This is what greeted us at the entrance to the driveway. Do you know what they are made from? Look closely.

Give up?

They are palm trees that were cut down and planted "top down". The blue and red "hair" you see is actually the ROOTS of the palm tree!

Here are pictures of the garden.

Of course every pond has to have goldfish!

Continuing on our walk we saw some of the wildlife that makes this campground home.

Evidently, these permanent residents in Rainbow Park did not think the above was wild enough so they created their own.
After a much anticipated dinner of spaghetti we settled in for the evening. I did manage to get these two sunset shots.
The perfect ending to a relaxing day.

ohhh, that's one thing I miss about Texas... the beautiful sunsets. Here in the Ozarks, we never get to see a sunset.
