We had to travel about 5 hours north to a little town called Fountain. The best way to describe this location is out in the boonies! We had made arrangements for a winter job at this campground not long before we left Delaware. When we arrived at Pine Lake RV Park we were greeted by the owner of the campground, Bob,,,I can't remember his last name. Must have made a great impression, huh? Well, he showed us around and what projects he had for Bob and introduced me to Debbie, the office manager. It was agreed that we would start Monday, giving us a chance to settle in, learn the lay of the land and set up housekeeping.
We ran into a problem right away. We backed into our site and soon learned that our electric line was not long enough to reach the pedestal. These sites are a little strange because the electric boxes are in the FRONT of the site and electric hookups are located in the rear of RV's. A trip to a RV store is order to get a 50 amp extension cord. We hooked up our 30 amp line so we could at least have electricity.
What in the world have we gotten ourselves into? There is no CABLE TV! We put up our antenna and we got 3 channels and one is so fuzzy you can hardly see it. OMG, how am I gonna watch Survivor and Amazing Race, they are on the fuzzy channel!
Shag has got to be missing her fenced in yard, she isn't use to being on a leash/rope and is constantly wrapping herself around the tree or picnic table legs. Poor pup. We didn't meet anybody today, everyone seems to stick to themselves. Oh Lord, what have we done?
We do have WiFi here so that is one good thing. We've got our computers to help pass the time.
After dinner we took a walk around the campground to give Shag a break from her rope and we didn't see a soul! This is gonna be a long winter!
