We left Marilyn and Wilf's this morning a little after ten with our destination being Great Falls, Montana.
We had a such a good time this weekend with these two. Lots of laughs, good food, lots of laughs, good sightseeing, lots of laughs,,,well you get the idea. Then again, its HARD not to have a good time with these guys. So friends, we'll see you in Arizona!
We had some more very pretty scenery on our way out of Canada.
I never get tired of seeing the baled hay in a field.
I wouldn't want to be the roofer for this barn!
I like barns!
When I'm riding in the truck I sometimes play "what do you see in the clouds". What do YOU see in this one?
We made it the border in good time with no problems.
We had our passports all ready and got in line. It seemed to be moving at a snails pace and we noticed that all vehicles were being pulled over. We wanted to make Great Falls so we were hoping we were going to sail right on through.
No. Such. Luck.
We too were asked to pull over into the parking lot. We just knew it was because all the guys who worked there wanted to check out a REAL TRUCK like our FORD! Oh how we wish that had been all it was.
There was quite a crowd when we got in there because it seemed ALL vehicles were being pulled in. We wanted to get through this as fast as possible because the wind was picking up and we were kind of hoping to still make Great Falls. A broadside wind just slows you down. Flags were standing straight out!
Well, as it turned out the "other" Bob Quinn is still posing a problem for us. They called us both up to the counter after an hour's wait and asked us the usual questions. Where had we been, how long were we in Canada, did we have fruits and veggies, did we have firearms and on and on. The Border guy took our passport cards and went to a computer and stayed on it forever! He came back to us with our passports still in hand and told us to take a seat. Uh-oh, here it comes. Next thing we know Bob is called into a private office and INTERROGATED! It seems not only does this "other" Bob Quinn have the exact same name but also the exact same birth date! Hang on to your hats, it gets even spookier than that. Their social security numbers one digit apart! They kept questioning Bob over and over again about details in his records on file, I guess hoping he'd screw up a detail and they could nab him thinking they had the "bad guy". This went on for forty minutes. They'd grill him and leave him alone, go out into the hallway and talk, then go back and ask the same questions in a different order and in a different way. I heard Bob raise his voice at one point and I knew then he was getting tired of the game playing. They finally let him out but we weren't free to go yet. They wanted to check out the truck and rig and they went through everything! Not so much in the trailer, but through every book and paper we had in the truck. When the Border guy came back he handed us our passports and with a smile on his face he wished us safe travels. Bob says after that we're never leaving the country again.
Needless to say, Great Falls was out of the question. The wind was worse, it was getting to be late afternoon by now so we drove to Shelby, Montana and spent the night in the Lewis & Clark RV Park. There was practically no one when we arrived but it filled up quickly. Detainees at the border crossing was my guess.
We'll make Great Falls tomorrow.

OMG! Are you kidding me??? What a day. I bet Bob would rather have not so interesting a blog story today. Wonder what the other Bob Quinn has done and why they haven't found him?
Love the barn pictures and I like hay in the field, too! Did you know that round bales have been out-lawed in Ohio? It seems that their cows can't get a square meal!
In the cloud: I see a WILD HORSE, running, with his tale in the air!!
Again, great pictures! And so glad you are now in the lower 48.
we just miss being very close to you guys...we were over in Coram, MT last week, now getting ready to head over to WA before heading back down to TX
In case you are wondering what LaVon is talking about, I told her the joke that Ohio outlawed the round bales because the cows were not getting a square meal. NOW you know the rest of the story!!! Great pics. Travel safe. See you in AZ.
