10/6/07 Moving Day

Checkout time is 11 a.m. so we got an early start on packing up and leaving this wonderful campground. Carlsbad is a place we will definitely come back to. We didn't have enough time here but since we have reservations for the 10th we had no choice if we were going to see the next town we want to see.

This will be our easiest move to date, we're traveling a whole 64 miles. We're going to Roswell, New Mexico.

You know the town, the one where the alien spacecraft supposedly crashed back in '47, where even today they make special parking places for the UFO's.

We easily found our campground, the Town and Country RV Park. The name fits it perfectly as it is situated just on the outskirts of town. For some reason this is one park that we didn't take a picture of our site or the park sign. It's an OK park, we've been in better and been in worse. There's very little grass, mostly dirt and gravel. This park doesn't have Wifi but they do have a modem station so that you can check email but not much else as there is a 15 minute time limit.

We spent our first day getting set up and doing our normal ride to get the lay of the land. Laundry needed to get done so when we returned from our ride that was something that needed to be attended to.

We met the couple next door to us. They are from California and are in New Mexico on business and will be here for quite awhile. He's a salesman for pre-paid funerals. Very nice people.

After dinner we just watched TV and took it easy.
