10/9/07 Move to Albuquerque

We got on the road around 9:30 and we traveled 204 miles today to Albuquerque. We'll be here for six nights during the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.
It was uneventful drive and for that we are always thankful.
We did take notice of this train on the drive north. It's very long and the back part is around the bend which can't be seen in the picture.
Scenery shots.

We had to go over these, the Sandia Mountains on our way. It wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be. That's a good thing.

New Mexico decorates its overpasses.

We pulled into the campground we're staying in, The Enchanted Trail RV Park by mid afternoon and got a very pleasant surprise at check-in. We were expecting a site with just a water and electric hookup for the time we're here and were told that tomorrow a full hook will be available for us. That's good news! It will save us from having to pack everything up and move to the dump station to empty our tanks only to move right back again. We really lucked out this time.

We didn't have any preconceived ideas what this park was going to be like but I wasn't ready for nothing of green color. The entire grounds were dirt and bits of gravel. We'll definitely have to watch for a breeze or wind, dust will be flying everywhere.

It didn't take long for us to get set up since we weren't even unhooking from the truck. We'll be moving to our full hook up spot as soon as we see the people in it now are gone.

We hung around the house, had dinner and watched TV. That was our afternoon and evening.
