9/15/2009 A Day for Errands

We’ve met some very nice people here in the campground. Mike, one neighbor, comes over every day just to say hello and see what we’re up to. Bud and Pat are just across the street from us and they live in Alaska. They are on their way to Texas for the winter. They had errands to run today and asked if we wanted to tag along so we went for a ride with them and had a good time. They are decorating their kitchen in their new place in Texas with roosters so we stopped at the local Salvation Army thrift store to see if they had anything. Bob and I made out like bandits! Bob found a brand new still in the plastic/box faucet for our bathroom. Ours isn’t shutting off all the way sometimes and needs to be replaced. A great find at $3.50! We picked up some old movies that we like so that we can quit watching the ones we have over and over and over again. Got those for $1.50 each. We also found two DVD holders in great shape for 90 cents each so that will help with our storage problem since our film library is growing by leaps and bounds. I found a 3 CD box collection of easy listening music for $3.00 so I thought that was a good buy too. I also scarfed up the can thingy’s that keep your beer or sodas cold. Wilf calls them cozies,,,we call them coolie cups. Not the rubber kind, the ones that fold flat and are thin. Twenty five cents a piece, a great buy as I’ve seen them in the stores for as much as $2.50 a piece. We don’t care that they are advertising local businesses, a pump company and the local radio station.

We also stopped at the local HUNDRED DOLLAR STORE and we somehow managed to get out with purchases that totaled less than fifty bucks.

When we returned there was a slight breeze going on so we sat with Bud and Pat in their yard until dinner time.

After dinner I happened to look out the window and caught sight of a beautiful sunset. I’ll leave you with these parting shots…..
