9/2 - 9/3/2009 Oh NO! Please, not THAT!

We made our last stop before reach Wilf and Marilyn's. The "plan" was to be in this campground for one night, the 2nd of September.

We got up on the 3rd, put everything away, hooked up, pulled out onto the roadway in front of our campsite and then all hell broke loose.

White smoke! Everywhere! Lots of white smoke! Followed by black smoke. This is not good!

Of course people came out of the woodwork and there were lots of wanna be mechanics. We heard everything from bad gas to the most often diagnosis....oh man, you blew the engine! Oh man,,,, is right!

A call gets put into Good Sam Roadside Service and within an hour a tow truck is here. Now this didn't give us warm and fuzzies. The tow truck operator says to Bob AFTER we told him the engine may be blown to start it up and move it so it would EASIER FOR HIM to hook up to. EXCUSE ME???? Easier for you? I don't think so. I told Bob the guy from Ford said don't start it again so the tow truck guy had to pull us away from the rig so he could hook it up. Too bad!

....and the rig stands in the roadway alone.

....and Bob waves goodbye.

It turned out not to be a blown engine! It was something minor after all but it still cost us $409. I was never so happy writing out $409!

To our GMC, Dodge, and whatever other brand there is.,,,this blog will not entertain comments from you. Its my blog and I don't have to!

Snookie, sorry to hear about the trouble with the truck. As a fellow Ford owner could you let us know what happen and what could happen to us? Btw...we are currently 235 miles due south of you right now.
