7/5–7/7 2011 Back to Work for Us!

Another three days at work. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, the work couldn’t be any easier but its still time that isn’t our own.

We are so fortunate to be able to meet just the coolest people while living as fulltime RV’ers. Case in point, Jim D. He came into the campground for a tent site. He’s traveling by motorcycle and is by himself. Jim is married and is from Colorado and he told his wife the road was calling his name and he had to go and she was to water the tomato plants.

Jim sitting by himself in a small patch of shade provided by a small tree. Alone with his thoughts.

Jim certainly had some stories to tell and Bob and he sat for a long period of time talking ….life. Did I mention Jim is eighty years old? Yes, you read that right, eighty!

Bob has been busy applying a good coat of wax to the rig and it looks wonderful. You can even tell from a few rigs away that he has waxed it. How do I know that? I hear it all day long from the other RV’ers, in fact a few of them, I think at their wives urging, has even started waxing theirs.

Diesel prices have really come down! On base here we can fill up at $3.59 a gallon. Can you imagine that we’re thrilled at this price? Sure, it beats $4.19 but its still too high.

Summer should start whizzing by now that the 4th is behind us. Don’t you find that summer is over before you know it after a night of fireworks?

Speaking of summer, it has finally arrived here in the Badlands of South Dakota. We’re in the 80’s most days and the humidity is nothing. The locals complain about it but Bob and I don’t even feel it, after all, we’re used to 90% humidity.

We’ve got some plans for the upcoming days and hopefully nothing will change them. Stop back to see where we’ve been.
