It’s that time of year again.  The time when everyone heads to the Pinal County Fairgrounds to ooh and aah  and take in the sights of beautiful gourds.  These once plain brown misshapen orbs painted, sculpted, carved and even illuminated into beautiful objects of art.  The best part for me was going with my friend Deb who had never been before.

Pictures from our day….

Yes, this was made from a gourd!

We have been keeping a close eye on the weather forecast for the east coast.  We’re hearing the weather reports and they aren’t good.  That four letter word keeps popping up in the newscasts and we’ve even heard the word blizzard being bandied about.  Dianne is supposed to fly in on the 13th and its not looking good.  Like thousand of other travelers we tried to get her flight bumped up to the 12th but we had no success.  When I finally got through the customer service rep answered my question about the phones being so busy with, “Right now, we have 603 calls in the queue waiting to be answered.”  No wonder I was on hold for so long!  So we’ll play the waiting game and see what happens with this crazy east coast weather over the next few days and pray that she can get out soon.
