2/2-3/09 Perfect Weather!

It sure has been nice here this week! We're in the mid-70's everyday now and it is truly delightful.

Monday was just another workday, selling tickets, printing more for upcoming events, planning the schedule for next year and looking out the window and wishing I was out there!

Tuesday brought line dancing, the first time in weeks! The problem I was having with my leg/lower back seems to be gone for the most part and I felt comfortable doing the Candida, the Electric Slide, New York, and my new favorite the Honky-Tonk Stomp. Gosh it felt good to dance again.

After line dancing I had a meeting with Jeannie and two reps from the Sysco Co. This is the company that sells everything from food products, to cleaning supplies, to kitchen equipment and everything in between. I had called this company in hopes of utilitizing their services as it would certainly cut down on the shopping time for us and maybe even save us some money. We would just fax in our order and it would magically appear on a truck on delivery day. We'll be able to buy dry goods in bulk if all goes according to plan because next year we'll have a walk-in pantry for storage. Some very nice changes are in the works for the kitchen and it will make things so much easier for us. It looks like this Sysco thing will work for us!

Bob was sitting out on the porch today and heard that Jimmy Buffett tickets are going on sale Monday for the Summerzcool Concert series this year. He got online to find out if there is a concert in any area where we will be and sure enough we'll be parked about 50 miles from a concert site in mid-May in California. Now we just have to be able to get tickets. If any of you have tried to get some of his tickets you know how fast you have to be. I've seen concerts sell out in 12 minutes. So we're keeping our fingers crossed that we're one of the lucky ones this time.

I sat in the hot tub tonight, for 3 hours again! It is so addicting, actually, after the sun goes down its too darn chilly to get out!

I hope this gives you a smile...

A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk with him. She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe.
So she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her. She said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would
be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed.

The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor girl he knew. She did this for the whole week. As the two walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy's little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week. Finally she said to Timmy, 'Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week?
Do you know her?' Timmy nonchalantly replied, 'Yeah, I know who she is.' The little girl said, 'Well, who is she?' 'That's just Shirley Goodnest,' Timmy replied, 'and her daughter Marcy.' 'Shirley Goodnest? Who the heck is she and why is she following us? '
'Well,' Timmy explained, 'every night my Mom makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much. And in the Psalm, it says, 'Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow me all the days of my life', so I guess I'll just have to get used to it!'
