8/27/2009 A Long, Long, Day

We traveled 8 hours today. We don't usually do that but we're anxious to get some miles under our belt. We didn't even make it out of Alaska. We made it as far as Tok and stayed in a campground behind a sporting good store. It was a small campground, maybe 20 - 25 spaces, all pull thrus which means we wouldn't have to unhook the truck and 5th wheel. A good thing. The bad thing was they weren't really set up for a rig that is 53' long. The man assured us it didn't matter because he wasn't expecting a crowd anyway and if we hung over the allotted space it wouldn't be a problem. Well, it wasn't a problem because it turned out we were the ONLY rig there all night. I told you we were stragglers!

Here's some of the scenery we saw today.

Hate to see you leave Alaska as it was the most interesting blogging I've read in a while. Perhaps after you rest up in Arizona, you can make plans for Baja California, Mexico and onward to Latin America. Would love to read a blog on this. maw

I'm going to miss the Alaska beauty, too.
Praying for your safety.
