8/4/2009 Living With Senior Moments

Senior moments. Ever have one? I haven't, but then I'm not a senior......yet. It seems by most standards today, especially when receiving discounts are involved, most people consider 60 as a senior. Since Dianne and Bob are just twelve days apart in birthdays and were both born in the same year they are both 60. For a few more days anyway.

The "senior moments" are in abundance here!

Bob wanted to cook some eggs yesterday and was trying to light the stove and he just couldn't get the flame to start. He thought maybe the tank was empty and needed to be switched to the other one. He goes outside, looks at the monitor and no, that isn't the problem. He comes back inside and tries again. Still no flame. Until he really pay attention to what he's doing. He's turning the dial on the back burner and trying to hold the lighter to the front burner. (We have to use one of those long BBQ lighters to light the stove.) Senior Moment!

A few minutes later Dianne comes down from her morning shower and wants to know how to turn the light in the shower off. Bob and I looked at each other,,,,Uh, er, Dianne, that's a skylight in the shower. The look on her face was priceless. Senior Moment.

As they happen this week, I'll keep you informed, as soon as I can stop laughing.

I know, I know, my day is coming.
