5/19/2011 Good Thing Its Not Sturgis Week

We’ve already heard that during Sturgis Week, when thousands and thousands of motorcyclists descend on the Black Hills, we’ll be jam packed in the tent section of this FamCamp. After today’s discovery it’s a good thing this isn’t Sturgis Week.

We had to call in a work order today because it was found that the pipes to the men’s shower room had busted within the walls. Three out of four showers were affected. Broken so badly that water didn’t come out of the shower heads at all but instead from under the walls in the dressing area. Major problem. Huge.

Since Bob and I are on duty we called in a work order and a few hours later a plumber and a few other fellows showed up. This is when the circus began. It has been raining here for ever and a day.

rain-2

The ground simply cannot take on anymore water, its saturated. And squishy, very, very squishy. If you so much as walk across the grass you sink. When the fellows who are assisting the plumber arrived in their truck it was POURING! Buckets! I guess they didn’t want to get wet because what did they do? They drove,,,, DROVE,,,,across the grounds. Want to guess what happened? When they finally got their van out there were long deep ruts. When the boss on this job saw it, let’s just say he was not a happy camper.

It could be a week or two by the time all the plumbing is done, the new drywall installed, taped and painted. Like the title says, its a good thing it isn't Sturgis Week with a full tenting area.

Much to our surprise we had campers come in today. There is no way we would have gone out on a day like this but that’s just us.

Weather today. Rain. Forecast? Rain.

WE ARE SICK OF RAIN!
