5/5/2011 Moving Day

We had to go to Flyin’ J today to take on more water in our holding tank. One good thing is we learned we can go 8 – 9 days on a tank of water.

When we arrived back at the FamCamp we thought it best to go into the spot where we’ll spend the summer. We took our time setting up so that we have the most stable RV we could possibly have. Evidently we did something right because when one of us walks across the RV floor or up and down steps the other doesn’t feel any movement at all. It’s as solid as can be and that is a good thing.

We were hoping the water was going to be turned on today but that didn’t happen. Maybe tomorrow.

I spent the latter part of the afternoon shredding. We had tax papers back to 97 and just didn’t see any reason to keep them that far back.

We ordered dinner in from Pizza Hut and we found out that we get a 10% discount for the military service. It seems most businesses around here give military discount and we appreciate that.

A couple of readers thought that maybe our “news” was that we were going to join the responders to the tornado stricken state of Alabama or perhaps the area going through flooding right now. Sadly, that isn’t the case but we do happen to be listed with a company that does that. At this time we are not on the active list. Perhaps if we had been footloose and fancy free this summer we would have reopened that option for us. All the more reason its good to know that we can go a week and a half on tank of fresh water.

I have a few shout outs here….

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Don & LaVon,,,here’s hoping for many more.

Welcome to new Frequent Readers… DeeJay and Kris Watson. We hope you enjoy the journey.

I don't know how far away (can't remember) but there used to be an 1880's Town near the Badlands somewhere. Bill & I stopped there & had a ball. You could dress up in period clothes & walk the town & take your own pictures. A neat little place we just found as we were driving along.

Check it out, I guess it's still there. Dances With Wolves movie props are part of the things to see there also.

Definitely enjoy living vicariously through your adventures. We've had family friends enjoy summer positions as they lived out of their RV; Yosemite and Yellowstone stick out in my mind. We're still very much tied down by a job, but this -- this is great!
