10/5/2009 NV to CA to AZ to CA to…..

The wind died down overnight but its just a lull so we decided to run while we can. Trust me, you don’t want to be towing 35 feet of trailer behind you in 40 mile an hour winds. It causes white knuckles.

So we pulled up stakes, got on the road and headed south. We zig-zagged from Nevada to California to Arizona and back to California in our journey today.

The scenery sure has changed from what we’re used to these past months.

As you can see in the picture below we had the road all to ourselves again.

Our first glimpse of the Colorado River.

We ended up in Blythe, California just mere miles from the Arizona border. We stayed in a place called Hidden Beaches and its situated right on the Colorado River. Its a nice little campground, quiet and clean. It has a well stocked store including beer and liquor which we find unusual as well all the other normal things you find in a campground store….milk, bread, swimming toys, beach towels, t-shirts etc. etc. etc..

This was a passport America campground so we got to stay for half price which makes me a happy camper.

We were not riverfront, although we could have been except for one darn branch hanging to low in one site, but we could a small portion of the river from our yard.

Some views of the river.

I’m just so amazed at how clean this river is, but then it is a drinking water source for a LOT of people so I guess it had better be.

Tomorrow we’ll be back in Arizona for the next six months. YES!
