5/3/07 We Have Fish to Feed

We arrived at J & J Campground in Hot Springs, Arkansas in late afternoon. A smooth ride from Texarkana, no problems at all.

We pulled into the campground and found no one in the office but did as the sign said and went on our way to pick out what site we wanted. We pulled off to the side of the road and walked into he main part of the campground to see what our choices were. We hadn't walked very far when a fellow drove up to us in his golf cart. His first words to us were, "Hi, I'm JJ, wanna half a sandwich"? He had just picked up his lunch and was on his way back to the office. He told us to pick out any site we wanted. We walked around and picked the perfect site for us. It backed up to the stream and was next to the pond.

As we walked around the pond we noticed that fish, blue gills, were following us. JJ happened to come by and said that an RV'er who stays here for long periods feeds them and if we wanted we were welcome to feed them too. We didn't have any bread in the house since we hadn't been to the Hundred Dollar Store as yet so I fed them Cap'n Crunch cereal. They loved it!

This is the stream behind our site. We could always hear the "falls".

After getting set up we made our usual run to Walmart for food, beer, Pepsi's and ice.

We relaxed the rest of the afternoon and just enjoyed our surroundings.
