9/9/08 Thanks for EVERYTHING Carol and Steve

Today we hit the road. After getting everything done, things put away, slides in, hookups taken care, of we spent a short time, a much too short of time, on the patio with our fantastic hosts.... for one last time. Oh how we are going to miss that patio! Oh yeah, you too Steve and Carol.

By the way, Carol does canning as a hobby and she loaded us up with peaches, pears, applesauce and tomato juice. Her homemade tomato juice is to die for! Thank You again Carol!

The time had come to say so long. It wasn't too hard leaving because we know we'll see them again in November.

Bob said his goodbyes and thank you's to Carol and moved to the truck for handshakes with Steve. I had already said my so longs to Steve so I was standing with Carol telling her how much we appreciated all they had done for us.

Bob got in the truck to get it warmed up and when he turned the key we heard... CLICK. Not even a slow errRRRRR <.......that's what dead battery sounds like but I'm sure you all knew that. CLICK. Just CLICK. Oh no, this isn't good. But isn't life just like that? One minute you're hot snot on a silver platter and the next you're a cold booger on a paper plate.

Bob then decided he wasn't going to fool around with this and asked Steve to take him to get new batteries. TWO....not one....TWO! That's what our truck takes. So off they go! Carol looked at me and said, "We have time to go get corn if you want". I want! I want! So off we went.

By noon we were ready to hit the road. Yeah, a couple of hours later than planned but what the heck,,,,we've got Utah corn and all is right with our world!

THANK YOU CAROL AND STEVE,,,,YOU TWO ARE THE BEST!

We had about a four trip to Blackfoot, Idaho to visit with our friends Don and Billee from Quail Run. You may remember Don being referred to as the "Peacock of the Park" in past posts.

It was a quiet and uneventful trip and for that we were glad.

Now LaVon, I know haven't posted a picture of a dead tree for you in quite awhile, or any of clouds for that matter, so here ya go girlfriend!

That should take care of ya for a few days!

We arrived in Blackfoot around 4:30 and got settled in right away. Don and Billee also have full hookups at their house.

Behind our rig was a potato field that that will be ready for the digging up of the potatoes in about two weeks. The "greens" on top the ground have already been done away with. I wish the potato harvest had happened while we were here, I would have liked to seen that.

Don and Billee have a lovely home out in the country. It was at one time their working farm.

Billee had dinner all ready for us shortly after we arrived. We had a delicious roast with Idaho potatoes!

After visiting with them for awhile we called it a night. The guys are going fishing tomorrow on the Snake River which is nearby.

It has been awhile since I read your blog. It sounds like you had a great time with Carol and Steve and also with Billee and Don. Where are you headed next? Would love to see you in Quail Run again this year.
Take care,
Chuck and Janet
