2/6/2010 Glamour in the Desert

Today is our 29th wedding anniversary. Wow! Twenty nine years!

Glamour came to the desert today. More specifically, Quail Run. Let me clarify that, Glamour SHOTS came to Quail Run. I happen to see one of my friends all made up in the middle of the day with pretty dramatic makeup which is just totally out of place here and when I heard she was doing the Glamour Shots thing….well it made sense then. So I ran home to get the camera to take some candid shots as the ladies got ready for their picture taking sessions.

Of course hair and makeup has to be done. Though i wasn’t around for the beginning I think they were told to come with NO makeup on and hair just washed.

The pictures above and below are of the girls who “worked” the show and are getting ready for their own shots. The ladies from the park were already past this when I got there but they all had hair and makeup done.

Jewelry had to be picked out.

Which accessories to use had to be determined.

…..and of course there has to be some silly playful time.

Everyone helped each other in getting ready.

You just never know what is hidden under those jackets!

Bra straps are just tucked anywhere out of the way. (No, the woman in the picture above is not the same woman as in the picture below.)

Here’s my friend Bonnie in her outfit.

Pretty, isn’t she? Now I’ll show you the rest of the outfit.

You haven’t seen everything yet! Bonnie is not the tallest woman you’ll ever meet and is slight in build so it would stand to reason that what she wanted to wear during the photo shoot was not exactly her size. Never fear, CLOTHESPINS!

I bet next year there will be a waiting list to get the Glamour Shots done after all the ladies see the pictures the professional photographer took today.
