We had another one of those perfect spring days today. As that fairy tale “Baby Bear” would say, “It was juuuuust right!”
I took a walk over to the jetty to see what the fisherman were doing, if any big ones were being brought in.
I came across these fellows who were in the middle of cleaning the sand sharks they had caught. As they cut the filets away they would throw the skin of the fish into the water. Can you imagine how many sea gulls were hangin’ around? And this picture is only showing “some” of the birds.
As you can see in the bottom part of the picture the remains of a fish is being thrown into the water.
It hits the water….
….and then the fun begins!
The first one didn’t have a good grip but the second one was RIGHT THERE!
…..and this little birdie had lunch.
At one o’clock we had a meeting in the camp store of all the camp hosts to get duties assigned and days off straightened out. Oh my, did we luck out with this job! We are supposed (ahem) to put in 24 hours a week, each. In reality we’ll put in 10 hours a week, each. Our duties are to make sure the bathhouse closest to us has toilet paper after the morning rush and before we go to bed at night so that there is sure to be plenty there in the morning. Bob will weed whack and cut what little grass there is along with two others. I will walk the campground, a mile total up and down the streets with my new friend Linda and pick up trash with a pair of “grabbers” and put it in the bucket. I will give some relief in the store on Tuesday’s. That’s it for the most part. I’m sure other things will come up but from what we’re hearing,,,,2 hours a day should do it. In return we get to spend the summer at the beach. Life is very good!

Dang, girl!! You planned it just right. Or did you???? Have fun.
It's good to hear about different peoples experiences with camphosting. We're wondering what to expect. Sounds like it will be a great summer for you!
Poor new friend Linda. She has no idea what she's in for.
Wow, in my dreams. Maybe someday I can land a job like this.
I was always afraid to think about doing that. Figured you would be tied down too much. I don't think so! You have my heart girl, camping at the beach for 10 hrs. of work! L U C K Y!
