No classes or seminars for us today so we were at loose ends.
Bob decided to get up on top of our rig and take pictures to show how many rigs are here....and this is ONLY the section we're in. There are others! We're packed in pretty close, wouldn't you say?
I took over the camera once he was off the roof to show how close we are backed up to each other.
If I've learned nothing else while I was here it was that ladders come in all colors!
Bob puttered around today for awhile doing this and that while I updated this blog. In the afternoon he was getting really restless so took a ride to see if he could find the local VFW. He likes to visit one in each state that we are in. As it turned out the VFW was torn down to make way for a new housing development and he couldn't find where it was relocated to, if in fact it was.
Tonight's entertainment was a play that was put on in the theatre of the CamPlex. We had free tickets for the eight o'clock show but then decided not to go after all. I can't really explain it but we feel out of sorts here, not ill, but just not comfortable.
I'll be honest with you, this Escapade is nothing like we thought it was going to be. On our road no one comes out except Ray and Barb across the street. We have one set of next door neighbors and I haven't seen HIM since we've been here and she waves once in awhile as she is pulling in or out from the parking spot. Other than that everyone sticks to themselves. So unlike the last rally we went to where there were BBQ's and get together's and you were invited to join different groups and activities.... we feel like outcasts here. We can't figure out why. It isn't like we aren't outgoing and friendly to the people we come across.
We've come to think of it as a large group of little cliques and we don't have the password it takes to get in. Nope, this is not what we expected at all.

Sorry you felt like outcasts. Most of the socializing at an Escapade is done in the hospitality center and at the many BOF socials. You don't have to be a member of the BOF to join in and get acquainted. Many a new best friend is made at these gatherings!
I have been to at least 3 Escapades, worked a couple of them. I have been an escapee since 1985 and believe me, if you listened to Joe and Kay, their message is the opposite of what Cliques are. I have also been to other rallies, they are strictly social usually, the Escapade is more about learning and geared to improving the RV lifestyle. You get out of it what you put into it. Did you try volunteering or getting involved or wait for them to come to you?
