12/1/08 WoW ! ! ! December Already!

It's hard to believe that we arrived the last of September and here we are into December already. Time is going so fast!

Today the Activities team took down all the Thanksgiving decorations and took the boxes and boxes of Christmas decorations out. There were way too many to even think about bringing them into the building where our office is so we took everything to the stage in the Carnaval Room. We unpacked everything, tested lights, tried to fix the ones that didn't work with new fuses, checking for loose bulbs and and any other fix we could think of, if they didn't work, they got tossed. We looked at everything and if it had seen better days, it was gone. This purging was long overdue. We got rid of two large black trash bags full of stuff the first go through. Jeannie went out and bought some new things and I'm going to hit the stores the day after Christmas for decorations that will be 50% or more off.

This week we'll spend decorating and it will take just about all week to do it.

I looked at the stats for the month of November and they are as follows:

  • 1,568 visitors
  • 2,642 pages read
  • Sunday is the busiest day of the week for reading
  • readers around the clock except for the time between 3 and 3:59 a.m.
  • busiest hour seems to be 7 p.m.
  • visitors from 13 other countries which include Germany, India, Portugal and Indonesia
  • The busiest day of the month on the blog was Sunday, November 2nd
  • The quietest was Saturday, November 29th

Most pages were read from readers in the state of California with 487. To round out the top five states, in order, New Jersey - 365 pages read, Wisconsin - 358 pages, Idaho - 198 pages and Virginia coming in at 160 pages read.

The city with the most pages read this month was Danbury, Wisconsin, 357 pages. I think its safe to say that we have a few new readers in Danbury because of the amount of pages read. Coupled with how many were read in that city last month, well, the numbers tell me there is more than one reader unless this reader goes back and reads everything a second time. Let's hear from you Danbury, leave a comment, tell us how you found us and anything else you'd like us to know.

The four cities that finish up the top for pages read are:

  • Livingston, NJ - 284 pages
  • Los Angeles, CA - 202 pages
  • Idaho Falls, ID - 191 pages
  • San Jose, CA - 152 pages

We had a total of 37 states represented in our readership this month.

Some of the terms that were googled this month that brought readers to our site were:

  • Zipper art
  • Bi-focals
  • Awesome handshakes
  • Philodendron
  • Breyers Ice Cream
  • Hoover Dam breast cancer (How those two go together is beyond me)

So there you have it, all the stats about YOU, our readers.
