8/4-8/5/2010 A New Awning in our Future

8/4 WE GOT OUR INTERNET BACK! It’s been a long 8 days I hope to tell ya! But we’re back online and we are happy campers!

Our day off and we had to hang around the house to wait for an insurance adjuster to show up to check out our awning. If you remember we had ours rip during a storm a while back. Bob had duct taped it but with the heat the tape just wasn’t holding and it was only going to get worse so we called our insurance company. Its WHY we have insurance after all.

Our adjuster showed up right after lunch and proceeded to take pictures from every conceivable angle and made a determination that not only the material should be replaced but the whole roller mechanism too. Uh-uh, not happening. We’ll replace only the fabric thank you very much, but hey, if you feel the need to write a check to include the roller mechanism you go right ahead!

I was surprised that we got a check right then and there. I thought we would get one in a week or two but she had her computer and printer right in the car with her and she presented us with a check before she left.

After dinner I, of course, went to check out the sunset.

8/5 After happily checking our email this morning we went to Ocean RV to order our awning fabric and make arrangements for installment. It fabric will arrive late next week and be installed the following. Wouldn’t you know our first choice of fabric has been discontinued, but we’ll be just as happy with our second choice.

Bob went fishing this afternoon and joined all the other fisherman in NOT catching anything. He said the fish just weren’t there as nobody was bringing anything in. In the meantime I sat out in the sun working on my tan, reading the afternoon away.

Another storm raged through here this evening but our awning was rolled up and put away. Lots of things blowing around but I don’t think anyone lost an awning in this one.

Back to work tomorrow.

Love the sunset pictures. The first one is my fav, with the clump of grass in the foreground.
