6/9/2010 A Relaxing Day

Mom and I started the day out running errands. First stop was the Newark Farmer’s Market in hopes of getting those long hot peppers Bob likes so much but all they on the shelf was shriveled up old shrunken peppers.

Next stop was Best Buy to get a flash drive to transfer my pictures to because our computers are going into the shop. We had each laptop upgraded with Windows 7. We’ve had the upgrades for several months now but just haven’t gotten around to having them installed.

Our last stop was Shop-Rite. There was a really good deal on Pepsi’s so we cleaned up there.

Back at home, after transferring all the pictures to the flash drive, Bob and I took our lifelines to the World Wide Web to Best Buy for the upgrades. We figured they would use their power plugs so we didn’t bring ours. Nope, back home to get the power plug, one, singular, because that’s all we brought. I don’t know why. Now our upgrades will be done one at a time instead of at the same time which will make our turnaround time twice as long. I told them that we were leaving Thursday afternoon and they informed me that everyone is told that the usual time is 2 to 5 days. Oh no, this won’t do. I pleaded with them to get them done explaining that we were leaving the next day and wouldn’t be back for a couple of weeks and that we had to have our computers.

Mom and Dad had planned on taking us out to dinner to Madeline’s our favorite Italian restaurant but we didn’t bring clothes to go out in and so we begged off explaining that Bob wanted to go see his friend and that I was craving a cheese steak anyway. We insisted they keep their dinner plans and that we would fend for ourselves.

After everyone’s tummies were full we settled in for the hockey game. Game six – Philadelphia Flye’s vs. Chicago Blackhawks. Our Flyers lost in overtime but it was a good game at the end. I can’t say they showed up for the first period but the rest of the game was good. Next year Flyer’s fans, next year.
