We were up and out early this morning as we had to set up for the church services in the Carnaval Room after last nights party. Since I've gotten into this terrible habit of waking up at 4 a.m. and not being able to go back to sleep, by seven I was climbing the walls ready to get the day started. I had told the team on duty during this time that we would meet at 9 to take the tables down and set the chairs up for Sunday worship services. Well, I was getting so antsy that at 7:30 I was up there getting started. Not too much time had passed and Bob joined me.
We took our time cleaning up what was left in the way of candy left in the serving bowls and even mopped the floor where drinks had been spilled. We pulled the chairs out from the tables and by now the team is arriving, yep, BEFORE nine too. It didn't take us long at all to get the tables put away, the chairs in order, chair pads placed and hymn books distributed. Bob and I were done for the day. We don't usually work Saturday's but this team had never set up for the Sunday services before and I wanted to be there in case they had questions and we were up anyway!
Today was errand day for Bob and me as we needed to make a run to Lowe's, Home Depot and the grocery store. When we got in the truck the oldies radio station we listen to was playing a Christmas Carol and I thought to myself, "Gee whiz, we were just at a HALLOWEEN party last night and now the carols are starting already. I didn't pay too much attention to the radio after that but when a lull in our conversation happened I heard a Christmas carol again. Now I'm paying attention! No oldies! Song after song was a carol. This is much too early for Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer. Tis' NOT the season! A listener called in and asked what was going on and the DJ explained that the radio station would be playing non-stop Christmas carols all weekend, after all, tis' the season! NO, NO, NO, it isn't. I'm tired of having Christmas rammed down my throat in September (or earlier) when the stores put their Christmas displays up. Give us a break! I dread the day, and I'm sure its coming, that you will be able to buy Christmas tree balls in one aisle and a bathing suit in the next,,, in FEBRUARY!
Our weather has really changed here in Arizona City. We're out of the 90's now and the temps are hovering around a very nice 85 - 88 range. Now it needs to stay there, just like that, until we leave again. I know that won't happen, even Arizona has winter. I just hope its a very, very mild one. One where the highs will stay around 70. Ahhh, wouldn't that be perfect?
Before I forget....go click the pink icon. I'm sure many of you have seen this sweet cherub already but I just had to add her in here. Its up to YOU and ME to keep buying the pink M&M's, sponsoring a survivor who walks in the Walk for the Cure and giving to research when asked. We can help find a cure before this little girl gets her first training bra.
Let's do what we can! Let's beat this!
Since its beginning a new month I check the stats for October. Once again I was surprised. We had visitors from 14 countries besides the US and 45 of the 50 states!
In the thirty one day period we had 1,756 visits and 2,869 pages were viewed. The busiest day of the week seems to be Thursday. We have readers on site around the clock with the busiest times being 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.
We've got a new reader or readers from Danbury, Wisconsin. We don't know anyone there but were happy to have you follow along and welcome you. The Danbury reader (s) viewed 406 pages. Los Angeles, California came in next with 294 pages read and Idaho Falls, Idaho was next with 251 pages viewed. Now we do have friends in Idaho Falls but I'm thinking there might be a reader or two that I'm not aware of. Rounding out the top five are Reston, Virginia reading 237 pages and Livingston, New Jersey with 192 pages.
To all of our readers, we appreciate you stopping in frequently to see what we're up to. I know lately I haven't been posting as often as I used but I'm trying really hard to get back on track. Bear with me, I'm getting there.
Smoking! Nope, still haven't had one and I've passed the one month mark! Hooray for me!
