I got to get out of the campground today! I was tasked with going with the "other" Debbie to promote the campground. So that you have this straight, there is Debbie the office manager and then "Little Debbie", a workamper from New Hampshire. She is in charge of promoting the campground. Today we will go to Panama City to spread our brochures around in the area attractions and to pick up brochures from the places we leave them for Pine Lake's brochure rack. A total waste of time to both of us. We got around this real fast, we went to the Chamber of Commerce and picked up a dozen brochures from each attraction in the area. Works for us! After that we went to a RV dealer and spent two hours touring new rigs. From there it was on to Costco to buy things for the Thanksgiving potluck dinner the campground is sponsoring.
In our travels we stopped at a branch of the bank Bob and I use and I made what I hope is our last mortgage payment. We told the buyers of our home that we wanted to make settlement BEFORE the 28th of December so that we wouldn't have to make a mortgage payment next month. What a great feeling!
We're finally going to get to meet some of the people here! About 30 people signed up for the dinner. The campground owner has sprung for a turkey, a ham and some of the trimmings. All the attendees will bring a dish to share. Bob and I are contributing 5 lbs of mashed potatoes.
After "work" today, Bob, I and Shag went for a ride just to check out the area. There's nothing to see.
