12/1/06 Shag is a Happy Camper

That's right, our furkid Shag is happy to be back in warm weather, not unlike her humans.

We met some more people today that will be our neighbors until April 1st. It seems with the exception of Bill and Susan that we're all here until that date.

Everyone is so friendly!

Today Steve and Renee, also from Michigan moved in. Turns out Steve worked fulltime for his state's National Guard for the same length of time Bob did and in the same job! These two will have tons in common.

Dave and Julie from Canada have stayed in this place before and are back again. They too are here until April 1st.

The next to arrive was Karl and Karen, also from Canada. You guessed, here until April 1st.

Bob and I worked some more getting things in place, finding things, re-arranging things and throwing out things. I really have to work on downsizing some more.

Around 5 pm most everyone made their way to our rig for happy hour. It was fun getting to know everyone but I noticed right away that I was getting bitten by something. I soon learned about no-see-ums. You can't see these little buggers but I hope to tell you that when you get bitten you know it! And itch! OMG, they'll drive you nuts! We soon found out that these things come out between 4 and 6 and you really can't sit outside during this time. It wasn't long before happy hour turned into happy half hour!

I walked up to the office/clubhouse to find out what activities they have planned and was greatly disappointed, once again, that there is nothing going on in the resort itself. It seems as though the resort is sold as of today and new people haven't gotten anything organized as yet. Well, that's ok, I'm sure things will get going in a week or so.

We have Wireless Internet (WiFi) in this resort so we're very happy about this. We'll be able to have our all important Internet connection.

After dinner we took the furkid for a walk and noticed how many people had come in today. The park is really filling up fast.

Well, that's our first full day in Port Richey.
